How we designed, tested, and optimized a landing page for a B2B accounting service that achieved 12% conversion rate vs. the 2.4% industry average.
The Challenge
AccounTech is an accounting firm offering outsourced bookkeeping for SMBs. They invested 3000 BGN/month in Google Ads, but their landing page conversion was a mere 1.8%.
- The "landing page" was actually the homepage — with navigation and distracting elements
- The value proposition was vague — "Professional Accounting" said nothing specific
- The contact form had 12 fields — a massive conversion barrier
- No social proof — no testimonials, numbers, or client logos
- Weak CTA — "Contact Us" created no urgency
- No message match between ads promising "free consultation" and the page
At 3.50 BGN CPC and 1.8% conversion, each lead cost 194 BGN — unsustainable for a firm charging 200-500 BGN/month.
Our Solution
Clear Value Proposition
Instead of "Professional Accounting" — "Save 15 Hours Monthly and Forget About Tax Office. Accounting for Your Business from 149 BGN/mo." Specific benefit, specific price, specific pain point. Tested in 5 variants — the winner had 3.2x better CTR.
Minimal, Focused Design
We removed navigation, footer links, and anything not leading to conversion. One CTA: "Request Free Consultation." Form reduced to 3 fields — name, phone, and business type.
Social Proof Strategy
Three levels: 1) Numbers — "500+ companies served, 12 years, 99.7% declaration accuracy"; 2) Recognizable client logos; 3) Video testimonials from 3 different clients. Video testimonials were most effective — viewers converted 2.4x more.
Systematic A/B Testing
We ran 8 sequential A/B tests over 6 weeks, each with 500+ visits for statistical significance. The combined effect of all test winners produced the final 12% conversion rate.
