Challenge

The brand sells through five stores and online and has one strong commercial rule: the second perfume is half price. The store had to apply the rule automatically, ship with two couriers without manual work, and give advertising accurate data for every order. All while allowing the owner to manage the catalogue without us.

Solution

A store built on Next.js and Payload CMS: the second-fragrance selector sits below the order button, the discount rule lives in one place in the code, Econt and Speedy are integrated into the order flow with their own prices and waybills, and Meta receives every event from the server. In 2026, we added a complete SEO layer on top.

Second fragrance at 50% off, without having to explain it

Below the “Add to cart” button, customers can choose a second fragrance. They select it there, and both are added to the cart at once, with the discount already calculated. The cheaper bottle is the one sold at half price; promotional bottles and testers are excluded, and the coupon is applied to the already discounted price. The same calculation appears in the cart and in the order because the rule is written only once.

Econt and Speedy in one order

Two tabs in the couriers' colours. Econt works through their official module and always costs 5 EUR. Speedy is entirely custom-built: a locality, office, locker or address from their API, live pricing based on the cart's weight, and a waybill created with one click from the order admin. The module does not offer localities Speedy does not serve and does not allow the order to proceed without a price, preventing the sale of delivery that cannot actually happen.

What else the store delivers

Payload CMS

Products, inventory, photos, promotions, coupons and page content in two languages, managed through an admin panel the owner uses herself.

Server-side tracking

Meta Pixel and Conversions API with deduplication for every event; each order stores the campaign and ad it came from.

Catalogue for Meta

The advertising product catalogue is generated from the store's data: inventory, price, photo and bestsellers based on actual sales.

SEO and AI assistants

Structured data for the company, its five stores and every product, nine guides, FAQ, a sitemap with language links, and llms.txt for ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.

The pages that bring in new people

Someone searching for “Dubai perfume” or “amber perfume” does not know the brand yet. The guides answer their question with examples from the catalogue and lead them to the products. The topics were selected based on Google Search Console data: searches where the site was already appearing but had no page that answered the query. Every guide is available in Bulgarian and English, with questions and answers and structured article data.

About the project

Akbari Perfume is a Bulgarian niche perfume brand with five stores in Sofia and Plovdiv and an online store at akbariperfume.com. We built the site from the first line of code: Next.js with Payload CMS, where the owner manages products, inventory, promotions and coupons herself, without having to contact us for every change.

The design is dark, with gold accents and large product photos. Each fragrance has a page with its note pyramid (top, heart and base notes), intensity, prices for 50 and 80 ml, and similar fragrances. The catalogue is available in Bulgarian and English, with categories for women's, men's and unisex perfumes, bestsellers, oils and home fragrances.

The brand's commercial rule is “every second 50 or 80 ml perfume at 50% off”, and the store makes it easy instead of explaining it. A second-fragrance selector sits below the order button, adding both fragrances to the cart at once; the cart shows the discount immediately, and the same calculation is used on the product page, in the cart and in the order because the rule lives in one place in the code. Promotional bottles and testers are excluded by definition, while coupons are applied to the already discounted price, so the two discounts never stack accidentally.

Delivery is handled by two couriers, and the customer chooses. Econt works through their official module at a fixed price of 5 EUR. Speedy has no module for custom stores, so we built it entirely on their API: searching for a locality, offices and lockers, delivery to an address, live pricing based on the cart's weight, and a waybill created with one click from the order admin. The module rejects anything Speedy cannot serve: a locality without delivery, a locker the parcel will not fit in, or an address with no price.

Advertising is measured against real orders. Meta Pixel and Conversions API send every event from both the browser and the server, with deduplication; each order stores the campaign and ad it came from, while the Meta product catalogue is generated from the store's own data.

In 2026, we also added the SEO layer: robots and a sitemap with language links, a canonical URL for every page, structured data for the company, its five stores and every product, titles and descriptions for every category, nine guides on the topics people search for when looking for perfume, a questions-and-answers page, a complete English version of the catalogue, and llms.txt for assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity.
