FIX: app for home services and tradespeople

FIX is an innovative platform that solves one of the most common problems for households in Bulgaria: finding a reliable tradesperson. When the client came to us, the market was dominated by Facebook groups and word-of-mouth recommendations. There was no centralized platform with a rating system and guaranteed quality.

We developed a complete ecosystem: a mobile app for iOS and Android (React Native + Expo), a web platform for searching and booking (Next.js), and an admin panel for managing the entire business. Users can find tradespeople by service category and location, view ratings and reviews, and book an appointment directly through the app.

One of the key innovations is the AI-powered search, which understands natural language. Instead of choosing from categories, you can write "the tap in my bathroom is leaking" and the system automatically suggests plumbers in your area. We use Gemini AI to classify requests and match them with suitable tradespeople.

For tradespeople, we developed a separate interface that lets them manage their profile, accept or decline requests, generate invoices and receive payments directly in the app through a Stripe integration. Push notifications ensure a fast response to new requests.

The backend is built on .NET with a PostgreSQL database, hosted on a VPS with hot reload for fast iteration. Real-time chat between the customer and the tradesperson is implemented through WebSocket, allowing them to discuss details before and during the service.

We paid special attention to UX design: the path from search to booking is short, and the interface is minimalist, with clear hierarchy and navigation.
