We have finished both catalogues for OMEGA LAIT: meanwell.bg and led-decor.bg

In October 2026, we launched two product catalogues for OMEGA LAIT within one week: meanwell.bg on 8 October and led-decor.bg on 14 October. One is designed for an engineer looking for a power supply based on exact specifications, while the other is for someone choosing a decorative lamp to match their home's style.

These are not two versions of the same website. They solve different problems, even though they were created for the same distributor. OMEGA LAIT is the official importer and distributor of MEAN WELL for Bulgaria and the official distributor of LEDVANCE and OSRAM, according to the information on the company's websites. For this type of business, a catalogue is not simply a list of products. It must turn a large volume of manufacturer data into a short path to the right model.

Why does one distributor need two different catalogues?

A MEAN WELL power supply buyer usually starts with a technical requirement. They look for input voltage, output power, dimensions, protection class, enclosure type or series. If you show them only a photo and a general description, they will still have to open a PDF, compare tables and call a sales representative.

A decorative lamp buyer takes a different route. They may know they are looking for something for a boho interior, an industrial kitchen or a child's room, without knowing the model or series. For them, shape, colour and mood matter more than a technical table.

That is why meanwell.bg is built as a parametric technical catalogue, while led-decor.bg is a visual catalogue for choosing by style, series and category. The shared foundation is the data and administration. The navigation, search and presentation are tailored to the different decisions buyers need to make.

How does an engineer find the right model on meanwell.bg?

The MEAN WELL catalogue lists 4 079 models organised into categories, series and model groups. According to the website and Saitami.bg case study, each model has up to 61 technical parameters, extracted from the manufacturer's PDF specifications and cross-checked against the client's tables.

This changes the search from browsing a long list to narrowing it down step by step. The filters show the number of models for each value. The engineer can see how many results remain before selecting the next parameter. This means they do not have to open dozens of product pages one by one.

Model search accepts partial entries and transposed letters. This is a small but practical detail. The customer may not remember the full code or may enter it incorrectly, yet the system can still guide them to the right results.

When the choice depends on a specific task, the configurator asks six questions on one page. Up to four models can be selected for comparison. The product page also shows price levels for business customers, as well as the wholesale price in euro. An enquiry can be sent without registration.

Practicality does not end with the main product. After meanwell.bg went live, a "Peripheral Accessories" section was added with 118 models: mounting brackets, DIN rails, terminals, cables, Rack cabinets and PLC controllers. The power supply page automatically shows suitable accessories based on the enclosure number. For example, RS-25-12 points to MHS027, DRP-01 and DRL-01.

Data is not copied line by line

For a catalogue like this, manually entering every parameter is a slow and risky process. The data for meanwell.bg was extracted from MEAN WELL's PDF specifications and cross-checked against OMEGA LAIT's tables. This does not eliminate the need for verification. It eliminates unnecessary copying and makes it possible to reuse the structure when changes are made in the future.

This exact approach can also be applied to other distributors with large assortments: first define the fields, then connect the sources, and finally check for missing, inconsistent or incorrectly formatted values. If needed, a similar process can be built with custom software or through data extraction from websites and PDF files.

How does a buyer choose a decorative lamp on led-decor.bg?

led-decor.bg features 910 OSRAM DECOR and LEDVANCE models. According to the project record, the catalogue follows the OSRAM DECOR 2026/27 presentation and offers six interior styles: Playful, Clean, Nostalgic, Boho, Glamorous and Industrial.

Styles on led-decor.bg: the six interiors of the OSRAM DECOR 2026/27 collection, each leading to its own series.

This follows a different logic from the engineering catalogue. Visitors can start with a style, then choose a series or category, and only afterwards look at a specific model. The website helps them translate a general desire, such as "a lamp for a warmer, more nostalgic room", into real products.

The data comes from OSRAM's table with around 14 000 items and 135 columns. It is linked to OMEGA LAIT's price list by EAN barcode. The Bulgarian product names are assembled automatically from the type, series and colour.

This is important for a catalogue that needs to remain maintainable. When a name is generated according to a rule, changing the source does not require someone to edit every title individually. At the same time, the sales team can review the result and correct specific cases when there is a reason to do so.

Search on led-decor.bg also accepts the last six digits of a barcode. Quick enquiry can receive a list of barcodes or names and recognise each line. Registration is not required here either. This is convenient for an interior designer, salesperson or customer who already has a list of specific items.

How was the second catalogue ready in 15 days?

According to Saitami.bg records, the offer for led-decor.bg was accepted on 29 September 2026, and the website went live on 14 October, 15 days later. This does not mean that every product catalogue can be built within the same timeframe. In this case, the second project was built on the foundation created for meanwell.bg.

We already had a working model for categories, product pages, filters, prices, enquiries, administration and processing large tables. We did not start from an empty website. We used the existing technical foundation, but created a new structure and presentation for decorative lighting.

This is one of the real benefits for a distributor with several product lines. The first catalogue requires more work on the foundation: how an item is described, how attributes are stored, how data is imported and how prices are managed. The next catalogue can use these solutions without looking like a copy of the first.

  1. 01
    Describe how the customer searches

Organise buyers according to how they actually choose. An engineer may start with a parameter, while the end customer may start with style or intended use.

  2. 02
    Gather your data sources

Describe which values come from PDF specifications, which come from the manufacturer's table and which come from your price list. This shows what can be imported and what needs to be checked.

  3. 03
Link products using a stable key

For led-decor.bg, this is the EAN barcode. In other catalogues, it could be the model code, serial number or a combination of fields.

  4. 04
    Build search and filters

Filters should narrow the choice, not just add a long list of checkboxes. The number of results and clear categories help the customer make a decision.

  5. 05
    Plan the enquiry process

Allow enquiries without registration. For a B2B catalogue, add support for processing a list of models, barcodes or names when the customer already knows what they need.

  6. 06
    Check old URLs and files

During a migration, preserve useful URLs for product pages, specifications, certificates and catalogues. Customers may use them, and Google may already recognise them.

What happened to the old MEAN WELL website?

When meanwell.bg went live, the old website was redirected to the new URLs. According to the case study, 1 139 old files, including specifications, certificates and catalogues, correspond to the same URLs. They were checked one by one, along with 1 267 old URLs.

This is a separate part of the project that often remains invisible to visitors. But if it is overlooked, old links from emails, quotes, documents and search engines can lead to an error page. For a product distributor, PDF file URLs are especially important because they are often sent directly between an engineer, a salesperson and a customer.

How are the two catalogues managed after launch?

Both catalogues are managed through a Bulgarian-language administration panel. The OMEGA LAIT team can change banners, promotions, prices and content on its own. This is different from a website where every change has to go through a developer.

Saitami.bg maintains and hosts both catalogues. This means that when data changes, an import problem occurs or new functionality is needed, there is a team that knows not only the design, but also the connections between the sources, product fields and search.

The detailed stages and technical solutions are described in the two case studies: the MEAN WELL catalogue system with parametric search and the OSRAM DECOR decorative lamp catalogue.

Is this model right for your company?

A system like this makes sense when your catalogue is large enough that customers cannot easily browse everything, or when the products have many technical specifications. It is also suitable when the manufacturer already provides tables and specifications, but they are not convenient for the end customer.

Before development begins, you need to clarify what is up to date, which source is authoritative, how prices are determined, what the company pricing levels are and how enquiries are sent to the sales team. If these rules are not defined, even a well-designed interface will display confusing information.

We can help with a product catalogue, B2B online store, automated data import, an API connection to an ERP or price list, technical-parameter search and migration from an old website. More examples of distributor systems are available in the Saitami.bg portfolio.

The two catalogues for OMEGA LAIT show why there is no universal structure for all products. The right structure starts with the buyer, continues with reliable data and ends with tools that help them send an enquiry for the exact model.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to build a product catalogue?
The timeframe depends on the number of products, the quality of the source tables, the number of attributes and the integrations required. For led-decor.bg, the website went live 15 days after the offer was accepted because it used the foundation built for the first catalogue.
Can a product catalogue be built from Excel or PDF files?
Yes. Data can be extracted from tables and PDF specifications, then organised into a structure for search and filters. The sources must be cross-checked because automated import does not replace the verification of product data.
How is a catalogue with technical specifications built?
First, the categories, series, model groups and comparison fields are defined. Then the import, filters, search, comparison and product pages are built according to how an engineer selects a model.
Can a customer submit an enquiry without registering?
Yes. Both meanwell.bg and led-decor.bg accept enquiries without registration. On led-decor.bg, customers can also submit a list of barcodes or names, and the system recognises each line.
