AI chatbot for a website: ready-made platform or custom bot, with pricing for Tidio, Chatbase, Intercom and the rest
A ready-made platform such as Tidio, Chatbase or Crisp when the questions are standard and customers message you on your website: paid plans start at $24.17 per month. A custom-built bot when you need Viber, phone support, your CRM or order management. Seven platforms with prices as of today.
For business owners who want an assistant to answer customers on their website, in Viber, WhatsApp or by phone, and are comparing an off-the-shelf platform with a custom bot.
Saitami's AI assistant answers on your website, in Viber, WhatsApp and by phone, reads answers from your system (CRM, warehouse, orders) and sends the enquiry to the right person as a task, while the scenario and conversations belong to you: you pay a one-off development fee stated in the quote after a demo with your questions, a monthly AI model cost based on the number of conversations, and optional support at €100-€350 per month. Ready-made platforms (Tidio, Chatbase, Crisp, Intercom Fin) work mainly on the website: paid plans start at $24,17 per month (Tidio, with annual billing) and $45 (Crisp Mini), while CRM integrations and more conversations bring the price to $95-120 (Crisp Essentials, Chatbase Standard), and Intercom and Zendesk also charge for each resolved conversation.
Here is the answer. Below are the seven platforms, with their prices as of 17 October 2026, the cost of one conversation, which ones speak Bulgarian and where they store data, which channels each platform supports (almost none support Viber), and what we found in the chatbot enquiries we receive.
A ready-made platform is a cloud service: you sign up, give it your website and documents, add one line of code, and pay a subscription, often plus a fee for each AI conversation. A custom bot is an assistant built for one company on an AI model (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), with your workflow and your integrations; the code, conversations and settings are yours, while you pay the model’s provider for the model.
Custom bot
Our recommendation when customers message you on Viber, call you on the phone, or the answer is in your system. The scenarios and conversations are yours; start with one channel and add more.
Ready-made platform
Website chat with a subscription and often a per-conversation fee. It gets up and running quickly when the questions number around ten and are always the same.

| Product | What it is and how you pay | Who it is for | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tidio with the Lyro AI agent | Website chat with the Lyro AI agent. Free plan with 50 conversations; Starter at 24,17 $ per month when billed annually (two months free), with 100 conversations and a one-time 50 conversations with Lyro; Lyro separately from 32,50 $ per month for 50 AI conversations. Lyro supports 48 languages, including Bulgarian. Data is processed mainly in the EEA, but the company is American and some data may be transferred to the USA. Integrations include Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Shopify, HubSpot and Pipedrive; Viber is not on the list. | An online store on Shopify or WooCommerce that wants the assistant to answer “where is my order?” without development work. | tidio.com, pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| Intercom Fin | Customer service platform with the Fin AI agent. A monthly platform subscription plus 0,99 $ for each Fin outcome, such as a resolved conversation where the customer did not request further help; no more than one outcome per conversation is charged. Payment is available only in US dollars. Fin supports Bulgarian. EU data hosting (Dublin) is available only for new workspaces on the Advanced and Expert plans, under contract. | A company with a support team and hundreds of conversations per month that wants to pay per resolved issue, not per conversation. | fin.ai, Fin pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| Chatbase | An AI agent trained on your website and documents. Hobby is 32 $ per month when billed annually, with 700 message credits per month; Standard is 120 $ with 4 000 credits. There is no free plan, but there is a 7-day trial. HubSpot, Zendesk and Salesforce are available from Standard upwards; Shopify, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and WordPress are included in all plans. It claims support for over 95 languages without specifically listing Bulgarian. | A small company with a website and documents that wants an assistant to answer questions about them and does not need Viber or phone support. | chatbase.co, pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| Crisp | Team chat and inbox, with data on European servers in all plans. Free plan without AI; Mini at 45 $ per month per workspace, excluding VAT, with around 90 automated conversations; Essentials at 95 $ with around 450. WhatsApp, Instagram and Viber are available from Essentials upwards, as are HubSpot and Pipedrive; orders from WooCommerce and Shopify are visible in all plans. Bulgarian is not explicitly listed for the AI agent. | A company that needs Viber and its website in one place, with data stored in Europe. | crisp.chat, pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| ManyChat | Automation for Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok and Telegram, not website chat. Free for up to 25 active contacts; Pro is 29 $ per month, with AI and up to 2 500 contacts; pricing depends on the country of payment. Viber is not supported. | A salon, shop or restaurant whose customers message it on Instagram and Messenger after an ad or post. | manychat.com, pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| Seekadu | AI assistant from Sofia for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and website chat, supporting over 50 languages. Starter is 99,99 € per month with 1 000 AI replies; Growth is 179,99 € with 2 000; an additional 100 replies cost 10 € or 8 €. Viber is listed as “coming soon”. The trial period is 14 days. | A company that wants an assistant in its messaging channels, support from a Bulgarian team and a subscription in euros. | seekadu.com, pricing as of 17 October 2026 |
| A custom GPT in ChatGPT | It cannot be placed on a website. OpenAI says that GPTs work only in ChatGPT and cannot be embedded in an external website; the user must be logged in to ChatGPT, and for an assistant in your own product it recommends the API. New GPTs can no longer be created from personal accounts, and OpenAI has announced that it will discontinue them. Through the API, the model is billed by token: gpt-5-mini costs 0,25 $ per million input tokens and 2,00 $ per million output tokens. | An internal assistant for your team in ChatGPT, not an assistant for your website customers. | help.openai.com, GPTs and embedding as of 17 October 2026 |
What ready-made platforms cover
If customers only message you through the website and ask about opening hours, delivery, prices and availability, with the answers all on one page, a ready-made platform will do. Shopify or WooCommerce online store: Tidio and Chatbase read orders. Salon or restaurant on Instagram and Messenger: ManyChat. Support team handling many conversations: Intercom or Zendesk, which charge per solution, not per seat.
The limitation is the channel and the system: almost no platform supports Viber, none can answer the phone, and a reply based on data from your warehouse or CRM requires an integration that has to be built.
Monthly cost: subscription, conversations, resolutions
Platform prices cannot be compared line by line because they count different things. Tidio counts conversations and AI conversations with Lyro separately. Chatbase counts message credits: 700 per month on Hobby. Crisp offers a package of “around 90” or “around 450” automated conversations. Seekadu counts AI responses, not conversations: one conversation with five questions equals five responses. Intercom charges $0.99 per result on Fin, while Zendesk charges $1.50 per resolution with a commitment and $2.00 per use, on top of the agent subscription.
So the calculation starts with your volume. Count how many conversations and enquiries you have per month (chat, Messenger, Viber, calls), how many messages there are on average in each one and how many people on your team will use the platform. Multiply that by the price in the table for the plan you actually need, not the entry-level plan. Then add the time of the person who will maintain the responses: on every platform, someone has to read the conversations and add to the content.
With a custom bot, the monthly cost is the model cost based on the number of conversations (via API, that is cents per conversation with the smaller models) and maintenance, if you want it, €100-€350 per month. When the assistant also answers the phone, we offer a monthly package with minutes and responses included; beyond that, you pay per minute and per response, with everything set out in the offer. More details: on the page how much an AI chatbot costs.
Bulgarian, Viber and data
Tidio, Intercom and Zendesk explicitly list Bulgarian. Chatbase, Seekadu and Crisp mention dozens of languages without naming Bulgarian. There is one way to check: give the platform your website and ask it ten questions that your customers ask, using their own wording and spelling mistakes. We do the same with the model. For a real estate agency, we ran three test lines with a voice agent on three different models so the agency could choose for itself: Gemini sounded the most natural in Bulgarian and responded quickly, ElevenLabs had the most realistic voice but a slight delay between turns, while OpenAI was stable but sounded more machine-like.
Viber is the channel many Bulgarian customers use to write, and it is precisely the channel that ready-made platforms almost entirely lack. Of the seven listed above, only Crisp supports Viber, starting with the $95 plan. Since 5 February 2024, Viber has allowed bots only on commercial terms, directly or through an official partner, and does not publish prices. When an air-conditioning importer asked us for an assistant for the phone, website, WhatsApp, Viber and Messenger, this was our answer: WhatsApp runs through the official WhatsApp Business platform with the existing number; Viber allows only a new bot, with no access to the number’s existing chats, and its fee is paid directly to Viber. With WhatsApp, Meta does not charge for messages from the customer to the business and provides 1,000 free responses per number per month; you pay above that limit and whenever the business messages first.
The data: Crisp stores everything in Europe, Tidio processes data mainly in the EEA but is an American company, Intercom offers the EU only on higher-tier plans under contract, and Botpress processes data in the US. For a law firm, clinic or company handling personal data in conversations, this matters more than the price. With a custom bot, conversations are stored on our server or in your account, and only the question text is sent to the model.
When a custom bot wins
The first signal is the channel. The air-conditioning importer wanted the assistant to answer the phone, including outside business hours, and record purchase, installation and service requests with the name, phone number, address and description, which would reach the team as a task and notification. No chat platform answers the phone. Our voice agent follows the same scenario as the chat.
The second signal is the system. A real estate agency wanted an enquiry about a listing to go straight to the broker responsible for that listing in their property management software. A law firm wanted AI to read case documents and answer recurring questions in WhatsApp and Viber, using two separate numbers and handling around 500 new messages a day after advertising; they were worried about losing the history if the number was suspended. This is not a platform setting but an integration that has to be built.
The third is ownership. When the scenario, conversations and knowledge base belong to you, you can switch models when a better or cheaper one becomes available, without moving everything. With a platform, you switch platforms.
What we saw in the enquiries
A dental practice in Haskovo asked for a new website with a chatbot and said it preferred an “automatic, trainable bot”. Meanwhile, someone else had offered it a chatbot that “installs ready-made and has no monthly cost”. Both statements are true: a bot with ready-made questions and answers really has no monthly cost because it has no AI model. We proposed exactly that: answer buttons that the practice could edit itself from the admin panel, included in the website offer with no separate chatbot line item. That was enough for the practice; if the questions increase one day, the same place on the website can support an AI assistant.
For a mobile toilet rental company, we created a demo: a scenario-based assistant with five short questions (product, quantity, period, location, contact), a reference number and an admin panel with the enquiries. The company did not continue. The demo is open and shows what can be done without an AI model, using only well-designed questions.
The common thread: most companies that ask us about an “AI chatbot” need one of three things. A bot with ready-made answers on the website, a ready-made platform for the website and messaging channels, or an assistant connected to their phone and system. We tell them which one in the first conversation.
What we have not done so far
We have not yet launched a Viber bot for a client; in our offers, we list it as a separate line item, including the fee payable to Viber. We have not yet connected an assistant that checks orders in an online store to a live system; if your store is on Shopify or WooCommerce, Tidio or Chatbase can do this without development work. We do not promise an assistant that never makes mistakes: we promise an assistant that says when it does not know and hands the conversation over to a person. What you can see working is in the demos: the enquiry chatbot, the phone voice agent and the contact centre.
Real systems and solutions you can open
Scripted assistant for a portable toilet rental company: five questions, an enquiry with a reference number, and an admin panel with statistics.
It answers the call, speaks Bulgarian according to the company's script, and hands the team a completed record. The demo opens with a code upon request.
Phone, email, chat, Viber, WhatsApp and Facebook in one inbox with a shared customer history.
AI suggests a reply to every incoming email. We work in it every day.
A platform where several AI models work according to the brand’s instructions; an example of choosing the model based on the task.
Ready-made platform, if:
- customers message you on your website, Messenger or Instagram
- the questions are standard and the answers are on your website
- your store runs on Shopify or WooCommerce
- you need to get started this week and try it for a month
Custom-built bot, if:
- your customers message you on Viber or call you
- the answer is in one of your systems: CRM, inventory, schedule, property management software
- the enquiry needs to reach the right person as a task
- conversations contain personal data and you want them on your server
- you want to change the model without changing the assistant

Frequently asked questions
Tidio or Chatbase?
Tidio if you need live chat and AI together, with a free starter plan and Shopify or WooCommerce. Chatbase if you want only an AI agent built around your documents, with a CRM connection included in the Standard plan. Neither has Viber. Try both with the same ten questions from your customers.
How much does an AI chatbot cost per month?
With ready-made platforms, paid plans start at $24.17 (Tidio Starter, billed annually), $32 (Chatbase Hobby, billed annually) and $45 (Crisp Mini), plus conversations beyond the package; Intercom and Zendesk add a fee for each resolved conversation. With a custom bot, you pay monthly for the AI model based on the number of conversations and optional support €100-€350 per month; development is a one-off cost and is included in the quote after the demo.
Do these chatbots speak Bulgarian well?
Tidio, Intercom and Zendesk explicitly list Bulgarian; the others do not. Quality depends on the underlying model and on how well your services are described. Ask ten real questions using your customers’ own words before you pay and review the answers.
Can the chatbot answer on Viber?
It can, but few platforms support it: of those listed above, only Crisp does, starting with the Essentials plan. Viber allows bots only under commercial terms, directly or through a partner, and the bot is a new account without your number’s existing chats. With a custom bot, Viber is a separate line in the quote, and the fee is paid to Viber.
Can I put my ChatGPT GPT on my website?
No. OpenAI says that GPTs work only in ChatGPT and cannot be embedded on an external website; for a website assistant, it recommends the API. OpenAI has also announced that it will discontinue GPTs. A website assistant is built on the API, whether in a ready-made platform or as a custom bot.
Someone else is offering me a chatbot with no monthly fee. What’s the catch?
Usually there is no catch: it is a bot with buttons and predefined answers, without an AI model, so there is no per-conversation model cost. That is enough if there are only a few questions and they are always the same. An assistant that understands questions in its own words uses a model, and the model is paid for per conversation, both with every platform and with us.
Where are conversations stored, and is there a GDPR issue?
It depends on the platform: Crisp stores data in Europe, Tidio mainly in the EEA as an American company, Intercom offers the EU only on higher-tier plans, and Botpress processes data in the US. Ask each provider for a data processing agreement (DPA). With a custom bot, conversations are stored on a server with us or in your account, and only the text of the question is sent to the model.
