What maintenance includes

Updates: the framework, plugins and server the website runs on are updated every month, always after creating a restorable backup. Backups: every night, on a server separate from the one the website runs on, so the website can be restored even if the server itself fails. Uptime checks: an automated check alerts us when the website stops responding. Forms and tracking: we check that enquiries come through and that Google Analytics 4 counts them, because a failed form is a problem no one can see. The SSL certificate renews automatically. Small changes: new text, a new photo, a new page based on an existing template, a change to a form or phone number, requested by email or Viber.

A company asked us whether maintenance, in addition to what was listed in the proposal, included adding and correcting content, or whether they had to do that themselves. Both are possible: they can do it themselves from the admin panel, and when they do not have time, they write to us and we do it within the month.

What it does not include

New sections and new features: bookings, a catalogue, a customer portal, integration with a new system. Monthly work on Google rankings and article writing, which is a separate service with a separate report. Advertising. Third-party fees: domain, paid plugins, subscription to a hosted platform, if you use one. For anything outside the list, we provide a separate proposal before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

What a month looks like

The invoice arrives at the beginning of the month. Write to us by email or Viber when you want a change, and we will tell you when it will be ready; urgent issues, such as a website or form that has stopped working, come first, followed by content changes. We handle updates without asking you about each one, and let you know when something has changed the website’s appearance or behaviour. On request, we send a short report of what was done.

Why it is not just hosting

One client wrote to us that the monthly price seemed high for hosting because they paid much less per year for hosting elsewhere, and asked what maintenance actually covered. A fair question. Hosting itself is cheap. You pay for someone who responds when something stops working, updates the website before it gets hacked, keeps a backup every night and makes the change you do not have time for. If your website does not change and there is nothing to update, we say so and leave you with the hosting you already pay for, with no monthly fee, as with Likhtgiter Bulgaria.

Stores and systems

We have maintained the Akbari Perfume House store since 2023: updates, couriers, payments, advertising tracking and product changes. The Pelikan DTM store has bot protection and scheduled tasks run by the server because traffic once brought it down. For an ERP system, maintenance also includes the server, database and its backups; for EkoVat, this is a separate monthly subscription. The more the website does, the closer the price is to the upper end of €100-€350 per month, and for a system it may be higher; this is stated in the proposal.

What we need to get started

For a website we built, nothing: we already have the access details and maintenance starts the month after launch. For a website built by another company, we need an administrator login, access to the hosting and domain, and first review it because we do not know what is inside; this is a separate service-taking over an existing website-with the same monthly price after the review. In both cases, we ask where form enquiries should go and who on your side will write to us about changes, so you do not wait for a response from the wrong person. You can stop maintenance from the following month whenever you decide, and everything remains with you.
