In brief: the hospital system is an off-the-shelf product
The hospital information system must report to NHIF, record data in NHIS, manage clinical pathways, and issue electronic referrals and prescriptions. It is a regulated product purchased from and maintained by a specialised provider. We do not build such systems.
But almost every hospital and medical centre has work around it that the hospital system does not handle well: online booking, a patient portal, paid packages with card payments, management reports and a website. We build these systems to order, connected to the hospital's data.
What the hospital system must be able to do
When choosing or replacing a hospital information system, check with the provider:
- Records in NHIS: examinations, hospital admissions, referrals and electronic prescriptions, signed with a qualified electronic signature.
- Reports to NHIF for clinical pathways, outpatient procedures and clinical procedures.
- Role-based access and an audit log showing who viewed what in the medical record, in line with GDPR.
- Integration with the laboratory and diagnostic imaging.
- Data export: whether it provides a file or API, so other systems can be built around it.
What we build around the hospital system
We build a website and online booking for a medical facility in a few weeks: departments, doctors, services and prices, with an appointment form that reaches reception. A calendar by doctor, room and device, a patient portal with results and documents, and paid packages with card payments make up a complete system costing 3 000-29 300 €, connected to the hospital system through a file or API, if it provides one.

What we have not done so far
We have not built a hospital information system, connected a system to the NHIF, or entered data into the NHIS. We do not have a hospital running a system built by us. If you need a connection to your hospital system's data, we check what it supports before giving you a price.
