How the process works
- 1The order arrives by email, through the portal or from a sales representative and becomes a shipment; the freight forwarder selects a carrier and sends the request from the system.
- 2The documents and status are collected with the shipment, while the customer sees their consignment in the portal.
- 3The customer invoice is issued from the shipment, the carrier’s invoice is checked against the agreed price, and the margin is visible immediately.

In brief: two different operations
“Logistics software” covers two different needs. A freight forwarder needs orders, carriers, documents and margin by shipment. A warehouse that stores customers’ goods needs receiving, locations, barcode-based issuing and customer billing. A carrier with its own trucks has a third need, which is covered on the transport software page.
Saitami's logistics system is for a company where the standard program (Cargo Manage starts at 7 € per month) is no longer enough: when freight forwarding and warehousing are part of the same company, customers want a portal, and their contracts contain rules that the off-the-shelf program cannot calculate.
Off-the-shelf programs and their prices
The prices are taken from their websites, checked on 17 October 2026, excluding VAT. Freight exchanges do not replace the program: you find a load or carrier there, while the shipment is managed in the program.

Documents and deadlines
The system keeps the documents with the shipment and reminds you about anything with a deadline:
- CMR consignment note under the CMR Convention for international transport; eCMR when the parties accept it.
- A request to the carrier stating the price, deadline and terms, plus the carrier’s CMR liability insurance.
- Invoices containing the particulars required under Article 114 of the VAT Act; for a service provided to a company in another EU country, reverse charge under Article 21(2).
- The carrier’s licence and documents, together with their expiry dates, before you assign a load to the carrier.
- For third-party warehousing: a handover report for every receipt and issue, plus inventory by customer.
What we have built so far
We have built the warehouse module into live systems: Pelikan DTM manages two sites and 2 564 items with a barcode scanner, deliveries and purchase invoices, while Testen Dom manages the warehouse by batch and expiry date (FEFO), with B2B customer orders coming in automatically by email. We show shipments, carriers and documents in the demo for a transport company.
What to check in the demo
Request a demo with one real shipment and one real warehouse customer, and check:
- How long it takes from the customer’s email to a request to the carrier.
- Whether the margin by shipment, customer and freight forwarder is visible without calculating it in Excel.
- How the carrier’s invoice is checked against the agreed price.
- What the customer sees in the portal, and what they must not see.
- How the warehouse bills the customer: per pallet, per day or per operation.
What we have not done so far
As of 17 October 2026, we do not have a freight forwarding company with a live system, and we have not connected a system to a freight exchange such as Trans.eu or TIMOCOM. The TransportOS demo uses sample data. If you need a connection to an exchange, we check what its API provides before quoting a price.
