A POS system is the on-site till: barcoded items, cash or card payments, receipts, and stock that decreases with every sale. In Bulgaria, till software must be SUPTO approved by the NRA, so for the till itself we recommend an off-the-shelf solution: from 5 € per month for Detelina POS Android to 298 € one-off for Microinvest Sklad Pro. We build the system around the till when inventory, the online store, suppliers, and reports do not fit into the till software: 3 000-29 300 € (based on 98 of our quotes as of 14 August 2026).

How the process works
- 1The cashier scans the items, the customer pays in cash or by card and receives a receipt from the fiscal device.
- 2Inventory decreases immediately, both in the store and in the online store, and when an item falls below the minimum, it is added to the order for the supplier.
- 3In the evening, the owner sees turnover by location and employee, while the accountant receives the data without re-entering it.

In short: the till is an off-the-shelf program
Saitami builds the system around the checkout: inventory with a single stock level for the store and website, an online store, multiple locations, business pricing and owner reports. The on-site cash register software must be approved by the NRA under Ordinance N-18 (SUPTO), so the checkout remains Deterlina, Microinvest Sklad Pro, micro.bg, HelloPOS or Plus Minus, connected to the system.
A custom system makes sense around the till when the store also has an online store with shared stock, sells to businesses at their own prices, has multiple locations or production, or uses its own rules for ordering from suppliers that the till program does not support. The till remains an off-the-shelf solution, while the two systems exchange sales and stock data.
Till programs and their prices
The prices are from the manufacturers' websites, checked on 17 October 2026. The fiscal device and, if you accept cards, the POS terminal are added to each price.

What the law requires from the till
These rules influence the choice more than the checkout screen:
- Ordinance N-18: in-person sales for which a receipt is issued must be processed through a fiscal device, and the sales management software (SUPTO) must be on the NRA list and registered for the business premises.
- Card payments: a receipt must also be issued when a customer pays by card in person; the POS terminal does not replace it.
- Euro: from 1 January 2026, prices on labels, at the checkout and in the online store must be shown in euro and must match.
- Online sales with cash on delivery or card payments have their own rules under N-18, so the online store and the cash register must be checked together.
What we built around the checkout
For Pelikan DTM, an office equipment distributor with two locations and 2 564 items, we built a warehouse and checkout system with a barcode scanner, deliveries, purchase invoices and documents, as well as their WooCommerce online store with 860 products, connected to it. For the food manufacturer Testen Dom, the warehouse is managed by batch and expiry date, with barcodes and invoices. We integrated card payments through myPOS into the taxi dispatch system.
What to check before you choose
Ask for a demo with your items and a real day at the checkout, and check:
- Whether the program is on the NRA list and which fiscal devices it works with.
- How long it takes to sell 10 barcoded items and process a card payment.
- How inventory reaches the online store and how quickly.
- What happens without internet: the checkout must still be able to process sales.
- How data reaches the accountant, and the three-year cost for all your cash registers.
What we have not done so far
We have not added our own checkout program to the NRA list or connected a fiscal device in a live system. That is why we use the ready-made SUPTO program for the checkout, while we specify the connection between it and our system in the quote after reviewing the program and the device model.
